Apple introduces M2 Max and M2 Ultra CPUs for Mac Studio.

Apple unveiled the M2 Max and the new M2 Ultra SoCs at WWDC 2023 as an improvement to the M1 Ultra model from the previous year. The Mac Studio claims to be up to 3x quicker than the previous-generation Mac Studio with M1 Ultra and up to 6x faster than the most potent 27-inch Intel-based iMac.

According to Apple, the Mac Studio with M2 Max is 4 times quicker than the most potent 27-inch iMac and up to 50% faster than the previous-generation Mac Studio thanks to its 12-core CPU, up to a 38-core GPU, and up to 96GB of unified memory with 400GB/s of memory bandwidth.

According to Apple, the Mac Studio with M2 Ultra, which has a 24-core CPU, up to a 76-core GPU, and up to 192GB of memory with 800GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, will perform and be more capable than M2 Max by a factor of two and be up to three times quicker than the Mac Studio with M1 Ultra.

Higher-bandwidth HDMI is now available in the new Mac Studio, providing up to 8K resolution and 240Hz frame rates. Up to six Pro Display XDRs are supported by Mac Studio with M2 Ultra. It now has Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E as well.

The Mac Studio’s back panel has two USB-A connectors, a 10Gb Ethernet port, an improved HDMI port, and four Thunderbolt 4 ports. Additionally, it boasts two USB-C connections for convenience and an SD card reader on the front for quick photo and video loading.

Price and accessibility

Starting prices for the Mac Studio are Rs. 2,09,900 for the 32GB unified memory and 512GB SSD storage M2 Max model and Rs. 4,19,900 for the 64GB unified memory and 1TB SSD storage M2 Ultra variant.

On Tuesday, June 13, it will launch and become available in Apple Store locations and Apple Authorised Resellers. It is currently available for order on apple.com/in/store and in the Apple Store app.
