Instagram has also announced the integration of two new features to reduce negative interactions in comments.
As part of Instagram’s 10th birthday, Instagram launched Stories Map, a feature made up of a map and a calendar that shows you the stories you’ve shared. Instagram also announced the integration of shopping in IGTV, a feature that will be available “later in the year” in Reels, as well as “a surprise” hidden in the app.
Taking advantage of the birthday celebration, Instagram also announced the integration of two new features to prevent harassment and bullying in comments, stating that “as people spend more time online, it is more important than ever that people have safe interactions and positive on Instagram. ”
Starting October 5, the platform will automatically hide potentially offensive comments, based on similar comments that have been reported by users.
In addition, Instagram will expand the warnings for when users try to post comments that may be offensive. According to the platform, the warnings allow users to reflect on their words before posting them, giving them an opportunity to repent and take a step back.
